Padubidri Maha Ganapati Temple

Padubidri is located in coastal district, Udupi. Padubidri is also known as Padubidri or Paddedra (in Tulu language). Padubidri was once the power center of chiefs known as Ballalas. Padubidri houses a famous Brahmasthana, Mahalingeshwara Maha Ganapati temple. This temple at Padubidri is dedicated to two deities - Lord Mahalingeshwara and Ishtasiddhi Mahaganapathi. The images of this temple is said to be thousand year old. Padubidri is well-known for a spiritual festival called the Dakke-bali which is held in the Brahmasthana here once in two years.

The murti of Ganesha is 2.5 feet tall. The utsava murti, or processional deity, in the temple is also more than 1000 years old. Ganesha worshipped here is known as Ishtasiddhi Maha Ganapati as he fulfills the wishes of His devotees.
