Ksheera Vrata or Ksheerabdi Dwadasi Pooja

On this auspicious day, Tulasi and Indian gooseberry (amla) plants are adored and Ksheerabdi Dwadasi is known as a propitious day in the auspicious month of Karthika.

It is also called as Chiluka Dwadasi, Yogeeswara Dwadasi, Hari Bodhini Dwadasi. It falls on the twelfth day of Karthika month. It is a propitious day for the Hindus, especially the wedded ladies. On Ksheerabdi Dwadasi day, hitched ladies, generally in the Southern states perform Tulasi Pooja at night. Sacred Basil plant is revered by the wedded ladies on this promising day for an upbeat and euphoric wedded life.
